CHEDER MOCK SEDER The Cheder held their annual Mock Seder which was well attended by a number of parents, children and older siblings. The pre‐cheder children were given lamjinated place mats with fun activities relating to each part of the Seder. Unlike the ‘real Seder’ this one was held in the morning and culminated with lunch of fish and chips!
COMMUNAL SEDER This year there was a real international feel to the Communal Seder, 30 or so guests from places as far afield as Arizona, Israel, Peru, Ireland, Greece, Newport, Swansea, London and of course Cardiff. Despite the later start due to Pesach falling later this year, a good time was had by all. Each person was encouraged to read a part of the Haggadah and Rabbi Wollenberg offered explanations, stories and jokes throughout. Our thanks to Jonathan Rapport in particular for all his hard work in preparing and catering this year’s Seder.
TEENS LAG BAOMER BBQ On a wet day, the Teen Group met in the Shul Succah for a Lag Ba’omer Barbecue, run by their leaders—Rabbi & Mrs Wollenberg and Rachel Jones. A similar event is planned for the end of term.
ISRAEL 60 CUS joined in with the Cardiff Jewish Rep Council’s Israel 60th Celebrations. Over 350 people from across the community, including a sizeable number of our members, came to City Hall for a gala evening of commemoration and celebration. It was a wonderful evening of celebration and pride in Israel’s 60 years of achievements and our congratulations and thanks to the organising committee. |
