CUS SOCIAL & CULTURAL COMMITTEE
SOCIAL & CULTURAL UPDATE
The Social and Cultural Committee have been active in organising the kiddushim following the Shabbos shul services both in the evening and morning. This provides an opportunity for members to meet and socialise following the service. The food is of a high standard, often “homemade”, receiving compliments from visitors and regulars alike.
The Social and Cultural Committee would like to thank those members of the community that have sponsored Kiddushim in recent few months. We are especially fortunate to have such generous members in the community that have shared their simchas and celebrations by sponsoring a Kiddush for all the congregation to enjoy. If you wish to sponsor a Kiddush, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the committee. However large or small your celebration, we would be delighted to accommodate your requirements. Anonymous donations are often received, ranging from a bottle of whisky for a L’Chaim to the whole Kiddush!
Along with the weekly Kiddushim, the social and cultural committee assist the community in celebrating various yom tovim and an extremely successful Chanukah Party was organised with a traditional Chanukah supper. The Children of the Cheder participated in organising a concert which was enjoyed by everyone. With Purim approaching it will be baking Hamataschen and once again we are fortunate enough to be in the unique position to be able to continue organising Kiddushim throughout the whole of the Pesach Yom tov.
We are looking forward to you joining us.
For only £35 you can sponsor the weekly Kiddush in honour of a special occasion, event or person of your choice . This price includes cakes, biscuits, dips, crackers and soft drinks. We supply the wine and you are free to provide your own choice of alcoholic drinks. Of course you can still throw a super-duper Kiddush but for smaller occasions, what better way to mark it than by sponsoring our regular Kiddush?
For your child’s birthday (or even a ‘big kid’) why not sponsor the sweets and ice-cream for the kids, all for a £20 contribution.
