Support Our Children… Support Our Future…

Thanks to the dedication of the teachers CUS has a small but vibrant  Cheder, which offers lessons to all Jewish children every Sunday morning and Wednesday afternoon. There are currently 19 children attending, 13 of which are in the 3-7 year age bracket. Senior teachersare Rabbi Wollenberg and Mrs Laura Liss, and they are ably supportedby Carly Bloom who has brought a breath of fresh air to the pre-Cheder class. We are also delighted that Mrs Wollenberg has recently returned as Head Teacher.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sam Gerson for his hard work and commitment as a teacher. Sam has now left the Cheder toconcentrate on his studies, and we extend every good wish for his future success.

As Chair of the Education Committee I am grateful for the help of mycolleagues on the committee:
Rabbi Wollenberg, Deanne Salamon, Sarah Nathan, Rachel Varley, Lisa Gerson, Philip Dennis and Jonathan Rapport.

We are also fortunate to have been able to set up a Parents' Association, headed by Sarah Nathan, which has met for social purposes and to arrange the extra curricula Cheder events.

Please contact me through the shul office with any enquiries regarding admission to the Cheder, for which there is no charge to all CUS members, and only a small fee for non-members.
